Annie Lennox

Annie Lennox, born 25th December 1954 in Aberdeen Scotland. Dorothy Farquharson, and Thomas Allison Lennox were her parents. Lennox took classes in piano, flute and harpsichord at the Royal Academy of Music London for three years throughout the 1970s. She managed to make it on her student stipend and work part-time jobs. While in the Royal Academy Lennox was dissatisfied by her performance when compared with her peers and was contemplating a different direction she would take. Lennox was a part of a group known as Dragons Playground as the flute player in the year 1976. The group broke up before they appeared on I.T.V's Talent show New Faces. Between 1977 and 1980 she was lead vocalist for The Tourists, a British pop group. As part of this group, she was met by Dave Stewart. Together they created the Eurythmics the pop group. Lennox started working with Diva in 1992. It was her debut album as a solo artist. The album was a massive success, both in terms of the sales as well as critically acclaimed. Nostalgia Lennoxs sixth solo album came out in the month of October, 2014. The C.D. contains a collection of Lennoxs favourite blues and soul jazz tracks from her early years. Lepidoptera includes four keyboard improvised tracks. The E.P. The E.P. is her first self-produced album as well as a follow-up to her art work created at Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art called Now I Let You go...
