Maureen Denise McCormick, the only child from Richard McCormick Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills California on 5 August 1956. Her father worked as a school teacher and her mother as a stay at home mom. Her older brothers are: Michael Dennis and Kevin. McCormick was a talented singer and performer from a young age. She show puppet shows to entertain her friends. She won in the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley Contest when she was just 6 years old and was then contacted via Pat Domigan, a talent agent from the Jack Wormser Agency. He was interested in her desire to be a part of the show business. McCormick's first job as a professional was in 1964, which was when she appeared in a television commercial featuring Mattels new doll Baby Pattaburp. A year later she appeared in another company's Chatty Cathy Doll and was soon cast in her role in the La Jolla Playhouse play Wind ItUp and ItBreaks. The Brady Bunch McCormick auditioned for the part of the youngest daughter of the towheaded trio in The Brady Bunch. The show featured Florence Henderson, Robert Reed and a new blended family. The show ran for five seasons and The Brady Bunch was an enormous successful one. McCormick in her memoir Heres the Story Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice Published in 2008, McCormick disclosed that during the fifth season of the show, she nearly lost her the love of her life to her twin brother Barry Williams. The time was when she was just 16 years old and he was 19. She told me that it could be possible, however we never had the right time to do it.
